The Muppets (2011)

Okay, I just got back from watching the muppets and I honestly though, wow, they must have shot this on film. Then I check IMDB and see that it was the Red Epic and the Red One MX. I have to say, I thought the movie was great, looked fantastic, and was well worth the viewing. I can say there was ONE scene where I saw a bad highlight on a blown out blue light which is what prompted me to check just out of curiosity.

It's actually fun to watch a movie and try and guess what it was shot on. This time, I failed miserably.

:)

These days I don't really care what it was shot on.

However it was a very well shot, and well crafted fun story. Worth the time to see it. Better than a few of the recent muppet movies. Some awesome and unexpected cameos from dozens of celebrities.

REally wanted to see this but it was not released over here... Have to go with the blu ray version...

I saw it today and really liked it. I thought it looked good but I also saw a couple times where it looked like they really missed focus and it was kinda distracting. It was the 1st movie my 4yr daughter has sat all the way through:)

With kids and wife comfortably settled in watching the Muppets today, I strolled into Girl with Dragon Tattoo to catch the beginning of the movie and compare which looked better (both shot on Red, but GWDT finished at 4K). The trailers and opening sequence seemed sharp on GWDT, but then the first 10 minutes of the movie looked soft in comparison... I do think the movie theater was to blame, because I have also seen them project 2D movies with 3D projecters looking lowsy, but still it was a letdown...

So, I strolled back in to join the kids and finished the Muppets which looking far better at the cineplex and restored my faith in Red footage.

I've had bad experiences at theaters lately, last one at same theater was with Tree of Life (2D movie) being being projected with 3D projector looking horribly out of focus (walked out for refund)...
