The most annoying performance

It's a matter of taste.

Then again, there are very few comdians/comic actors that I find consistently funny.

On the other hand, most of them do very well in straight roles, afaic. Carrey included.

I have thought that a 100 times... How does she get work? Hot - YES. That is not enough to be a leading lady...

Any and all work by Whoopi Goldberg.... :thumbdown

Sorry but Color Purple was a great performance.

What is the most annoying performance you have ever seen ? A performance by an actor that just makes your skin crawl?

Ellen Barkin in Mercy. Most overacted I've ever seen.

Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut. Especially the scene where she confesses the sexual fantasy about a Naval officer. (Other movies with her not so bad.)

That's what I have so far.

UPDATE: Crispin Glover in Willard.
Just about anything with Will Smith. (Sorry Will, there's a difference between emoting and acting.)

Keanu Reeves in everything but Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (which I've never seen - but seems perfect for his vacant delivery of EVERY line he's ever had.)

Okay, you say you like Keanu Reeves in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"...I can tell you it was one of his best performances. However, I have a hard time giving him credit for it. He stole Sean Penn's performance from "Fast Times at Ridgemount High".

Jim is one of the greatest actors I have ever seen.

WHAT WHAT WHAT?!!!

Now that's funnier than any Jim Carrey movie I have ever seen more than 15 minutes of.

I can't stomach Jim Carrey (and no he was awful in The Majestic and that Maple Drive movie where he played an alcoholic) and ranking up there is well is Will Ferrill. I don't what he put in the water to make people think he's funny, but he ain't. The Bewitched premise was cute, but sorry didn't believe his end for one single second. The guy sucks. Can hardly wait to see him in "Land of the Lost".

I found Glover suitably creepy in Willard.

Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. Weird. Weird. Weird. and Creepy.

I got my son hooked on the original, He watched it a gazillon times. The new one, he's totally indifferent.

Yeah, I love Johnny Depp but his choices for Willy Wonka were just all wrong. I still think Johnny Depp would have been perfect in the remake but only if he brought back some of that angst from his "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" character.

lmfao. I never thought of that but your right, Depp looks just like Channing in Wonka! Too funny. You can't beat Wilder. I wish that remake was never made..

Ice-T in "3000 Miles to Graceland" swinging upside down through the crowd shooting machine guns :thumbdown

I would not really count this as an annoying performance as much as an entire movie ruining scene. I like T, not his fault on this one but I was totally digging the flick until this absurd scene. I have no idea what brain trust decided to put this in the movie. Steven Segal junk....

He's good when he doesn't do stupid voices. Seems rare

When he tries voices, like little Nicky, waterboy.. I want him dead.

IMO I thought that "The Waterboy" was one of his funniest movies he's done. I laugh my butt off watching that movie. Little Nicky isn't one of his better movies. Sometimes I can't understand what he's saying in that movie. I'm a huge fan of Sandler. I think he's funny. I've loved his work since SNL and throughout his movies. On a side note I think that he did a good job in "Punch Drunk Love" it's one of my favorites of his. Probably 2nd favorite to me.

Waterboy was good - I just do not dig the voices... He sucks at it

He is very good in Punch drunk love and Spanglish - A good actor. (just stay away from the bloody voices)

ya the voices do get annoying. but at the same time the voices he did for Eight Crazy Nights were good. Whitey and his wife were both done by him... other than that ya stay away from the voices

Anybody say Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds?

She came very close to ruining that movie for me with her same annoying scream through out the whole movie.

EDIT: Didn't see Yas Kassana's post

Never saw her in anything else that I recall. But I found her just as annoying as Mary Kate & Ashley from their make-even-Bob-Saget-look-talented days. I don't see what people see in her.

Take a look at "Man On Fire" or "Hide And Seek". She was great in both of those. Of course she was playing opposite Denzel Washington and Robert DeNiro instead of Tom Cruise.
