The McNugget Meltdown

Oh jeez... there was a woman in California that called 911 when Burger King got her order wrong. Now it looks like she moved to Florida? I miss the old days, when the stupid people would end up getting eaten by wolves.

it was really dumb to call the police over this. but i don't understand why they wouldn't refund the woman her money.

This reminds me of that scene in Falling Down with Michael Douglas. Sometimes you want to go postal like this. Sure, if your not truly crazy you show restraint from doing so. But isn't there a piece in all of us that just wants to take it to that level when we feel like we've been wronged by "the man".

You ought to see me when the pizza isn't here in 30 minutes or less ;)

From a Journalism 101 standpoint, the story is a fine example of the inverted pyramid form.

lol. the last two lines:

"McNuggets, introduced to the McDonald’s national menu in 1983, are sold in more than 100 countries and, unlike the McDouble, are often dunked in barbecue or hot mustard sauce.

Goodman’s 10-piece selection has 460 calories and 29 grams of fat."

Yuck, I hate anything and everything that comes from McDonald's. Everything I've tried to eat from there since three years ago save for their fries and hash browns makes me sick.

Now they're trying to knock out Starbucks with their new coffee stuff. Seriously, how long until the world is ruled by McDonald's and Walmart and we will all have to mandatorily become draftees in the endless wars between the Republic of Ronald and the nation of Walmaria?

I have to agree with you Nektonic, on all accounts. WalMart and McDonalds are the only two companies making a profit, and each in their own way, is doing it by selling inferior goods cheaper than the competition. I refuse to eat MickeyD's, and I hate Wallymart with a passion only going when I have no other choice. I will gladly spend a couple dollars more, and do my grocery shopping at the local grocery store. It isn't as crowded, the products are better, and the service is delightfully old fashioned- they will gladly offer to take the groceries and put them in the car for you! My theory is, if the only place you shop is Walmart, pretty soon that will be the only place you can shop. Then they will really have you bent over.

That won't happen, the McCafé crap is just that, crap.

Not that I think Starbuck$ is any better...

True, some people seem to love Starbucks while others don't care for it. I feel their coffee is too burnt tasting due to them over-roasting their beans. I used to work at Caribou Coffee. I remember their coffee tasting much better than Starbucks. I can't imagine McD's coffee being better than Starbucks though.

I've stopped going to coffee shops altogether. With the exception of McD's, I don't think they are bad, just too expensive compared to brewing a pot at home.
