Watched it on HBO a couple days after it came out. It wasn't the worst, I might watch it again at some point in the future if I'm bored. But it was kind of slog in the middle there. A couple of times I wondered if it was going to be over soon. Kind of hoping it would be. It felt like a lamer, safer version of the original trilogy. I'm kind of convinced that the meta stuff at the beginning is actually a true confession. That maybe Lana didn't really want to make another one but the studio got pushy and was going to anyway. I don't know that for certain and haven't done any "research" on that. So I could be completely off base. But that's kind of how the movie feels to me. Almost like a fan film that somehow convinced Keanu and Carrie-Anne to be in it. But not the worst fan film ever. Just not one that was all that exciting or was able to capture the soul of the original trilogy, and certainly not the first film.
