The M42 Mount

Hey quick question about the M42 mount for some of the 35mm adapters. This is not too relevant, but:

The Meteor 5-1 lens that comes with the K-3 (which either has an M42 mount or a Russian bayonet mount) fit's onto the camera... So is it an M42 lens?

In other words, if I wanted to attach this lens-- since it's pretty decent quality for it's extremely low price-- could it connect to an M42 mount on a 35mm adapter?

Letus, amongst others, offers the M42 mount option for the adapter; Would it, in your opinion, be worth it to go with the M42 option or stick with Nikon/Canon lenses? (I can find some decent M42's for fairly cheap).

Thanks,

Yes most of the Meteor 5-1 lenses are M42-mount, and yes they'd FIT on the 35mm adapter. But they won't WORK on the adapter. Those Meteors are 16mm lenses; all you'll get on your adapter is a whole lot of black with a small center circle of lens image.

Meteor is the name of the lens, I think Zenit is the company. 5-1 is the model number, not the zoom range (it's actually a 4:1 zoom range).
