that's pretty awesome. i wonder how hard the light source is, and if they have any type of diffusion. the LEDs don't look near as concentrated as something like the coollights panel. it'd be even cooler if they could run off of batteries as well.

I bought this LED grow panel off of ebay a while back. The temp is way too cool. I had to bouble up a CTO just to get it near 5600k. The output is no where near a coollight 256. If those stackable panels are using the same LEDs I would be concrned. They're cheap enough to give one a test drive though.

ive been using grow lights for 6 months now and i love the light i bought mine for $30 off of ebay

I would like to see how you can attach these to a light stand? The metacafe video with the ram mount seem more geared towards studio set up.

Nice little light. But a complete toy.
170 Lumen light ouput for one fixture. Come on guys. That's just not good enough.
The fixture is built from so called superflux LED's with not much output. You can buy superflux LED's with 25 Lumen output each for about $ 1.50.
So eight of them would be brighter than this whole fixture.

Compared to Coollights LED 256 (I have two of them) the light falls down completely. A LED 256 has a lumen output of about 760. So 4.5 times more. The LED 600 (I have three of them) of about the same size has about 2300 Lumen output. That's 14 times more.

Those LED fixtures are toys with no output at all.

At a distance of let's say 1 meter the lux reading will be about 200 Lux. The Litepanel Micro is significantly brighter. About 340 Lux.
Why is the chick in the pictures so close to the fixture? Because 3 feet away, the fixture would not have any impact on her, lightwise that is.

These are nice grow lights. But for video applications. No way.

Buy something bright like Coollights LED's or this. (although it's just a barebone kinda thingy.)

Just my two cents.

I'd like to see an independent person test these, the 170 lumens is estimated, anyone know the CRI? The light looks really hard, looks like lots of difusion will be needed.

I'd consider these for a project that i'm going to do that my gear will be trashed anyway by the end of the shoot so why not save some money.

Kinda reminds me of Legos that light up! Pretty neat invention and then to separate using RCA cables... that's pretty wild! I agree with Min Lee, I would want to see how they would attach to a light stand but then again it looked like they did have them on a light stand in the video but they guy said tripod! Watch the video again and notice the 5/8inch stud at the top of the stand.
