The latest hollywood trend

Hollywood must be running out of comic book material, because the latest trend seems to be taking well known historical figures and turning them into ass kicking superheroes. Seems anything with any kind of name recognition is being turned into summer blockbuster material. First Sherlock Holmes, now these two projects--

Coming soon, FDR and his Wheelchair of Death: Nazi Fighter

The Leonardo one sounds kinda fun in a hokey National Treasure sort of way. Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter just sounds dumb.

The Davinci one would work... just look at Hudson Hawk... you could make a Divinci trailer out of that movie already.

hey thats from the same guys that did the masterpiece "Harry Knuckles and the Pearl Necklace". Don't hate on JCVH cause of the name, hate on it cause its a POS film.

Here are my attempts at some stupid and silly historical figure + high concept ideas:

The Splatterer: a horror flick about Jackson Pollack's secret life as a serial killer who uses his victim's blood as paint.

Joan of the Arcade: an ancestor of Joan of Arc must enter a virtual world that resembles the early 1980's to lead a team of virtual monks in their hunt for an illusive and destructive sentient program.

The Black Panthers: a group of Black Panthers are transformed into half human/half panther superheroes by a secret government lab.

World War 2.5: in the midst of the D-Day invasion, bloodthirsty aliens attack the planet, forcing a platoon of American paratroopers stranded behind enemy lines to ally themselves with a Nazi battalion to survive. (alternate title: Invasion Day)

Christ on a Crutch: after a failed Second Coming, the "Jesus Christ" looses his supernatural abilities and has to join the workforce like the rest of us. To make matters worse, he ends up working in the mailroom at a greedy corporation run by a slick talking CEO who just happens to be the Antichrist.

Joan of the Arcade has potential...seriously...

Ha ha. I was just trying to satirize some of the goofy ones Hollywood announces, but now that I think of it, I kinda like the World War 2.5 idea.

I think that if I were to ever write a Joan of Arc film, I'd rather do one that is actually about the history of the real Joan of Arc. Although, there has already been a ton of those made since the beginning of cinema.

I guess they already did Joan of Arcadia...How about Ghandi II--

Ghandi II would be awesome if it were a full length film. Don't forget Conan the Librarian.
