the LAST SUPPER PAINTING IN HD

I don't see much of a point of shooting this thing at such a high resolution except for blowing it up bigger than it was painted, microscopically analyzing it and of course because it is freakin cool.
The fact that there is no printing solution to take advantage of a 16 gigapixel image at the original size of the painting shows that there are certain things that can only be done by hand. Also is room for perspective error since it is a composite.

I know this was done for scientific analysis but it seems pointless to me since nothing could have been painted smaller than the human eye can see. So what is the point of looking at the whole thing microscopically as apposed to a few sections?

The idea is great but now what?
