The Last Lecture

Randy Pausch is a 47 year old professor at Carnegie Mellon dying of cancer. With only a few months to live, he decided to give a "last lecture" about what he has learned in life as something to leave his kids. It is an incredibly inspirational talk given by an amazing guy. I think for people who dream of making films, it has added relevance.

It is an hour and a half so I would wait until you have the time to watch it.

You know, Jim... I just saw an ABC news program last night about Randy Pausch. (Totally caught it by accident as I don't usually watch Diane Sawyer but I am glad I did.)
Wow. Inspiring. What an incredible man. I was thoroughly engrossed in the program.

I hope that there is a way to view a repeat of that program. It was pretty amazing. And I look forward to watching this Last Lecture.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Randy Pausch died? That just sucks. I saw his speech and was deeply moved. One of the most inspirational things to me was the death of my aunt. She always wanted to do things but never got to do them. She lived a long life but died wanting to travel. She wanted freedom. What Pausch was saying was true. We worry about so much BS. I'd rather have less and be able to do my art than be rich and not. (I'd rather be able to support myself with my art, and it's not impossible).

Mr. Pausch made me understand that everything I believe is true and why I have to get out. Why I have to keep kicking butt until the day die. It's about family, friends and helping others. Living well and having fun comes from that, not trying to screw people over or chasing money all over the place. Do your art, work hard pray hard, play hard and money and opportunities will come. Enjoy your family while you can. You know how many people die because of stress and never accomplishing not one dream, still pining over bad relationships and people who've done them wrong! I want to die doing what I love. Put me in the grave with a DVX100, HV20 or the like in my cold clammy hand!

Rip Mr. Pausch.
