Oh, that wascally Nate again with his sci-fi-super-fly theories...

He's a harmless old coot...Just don't encourage him, kids.
He'll peter out soon enough.

Rasicm is about power and control not particularly hate, racial hate is different. Racism is about a system. Notice I never call a specific person "racist" I call systems and practices racist. I believe the casting in Airbender was racist, the treatment of the Catwoman film was racist, (I know DC's/Warner Bros history of weird racist things and how they try to make up for it in weird ways too so they know it's there), the casting of the "Wanted" film was racist. Now was the casting director "racist"? I don't know, but these practices are indeed based in racism. The lack of sense behind them go beyond "let make lots of money". Will Smith, Jamie Fox, Snoop Dogg, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and many others make lots of money at the box office, so it's no excuse.

LOL, thanks CF. But harmless, I think not. This thread has 183 post. It is a real issue that touches all of us and the amount of post means people are ready to talk about it. As much as we want to excuse it and say it okay, in the back of our minds we all know it's wrong. I still can't bring myself to play that one Res. Evil that takes place in Africa.

I was making a Nazi connection but just to show the irony. Even the good guys fall into the Uberman trap, meaning the idea of whiteness being equated with being great or powerful. Will Smith could indeed be a black Uberman, but is there such a thing? LOL, Hitler even makes an appearance in my works, but he's trumped by a black Uberman.

Nathyn, Nietzche's works were edited after his death. "Philosophers" like Alfred Rosenberg dragged Nietzche (long after his death) down to the level of treating humans as breeds of farm animal, where if you read the actual texts - particularly Beyond Good and Evil - he is clearly writing about a higher-plane development of human potential, and nowhere rules out that an individual's race is revelant to that development. Sure, yes, he was a Germanophile. He was a German, which at the time frequently meant the same thing. But that is not at all the same thing a being a racist.

If you'd like to discuss The Last Airbender, start a new thread. This one seems to have run wildly off course.
