Hey guys,

Just wanted to share this for those who are interested..

My animated documentary short film The KoAloha Ukulele Story was created with much help here in this forum and from folks like LuckyStudio 13 formerly DXMetal as well as many others so I thought I'd post this press piece from the Pacific Citizen as well as give folks an opportunity to catch the film.

When I was first venturing to self-produce this ukulele documentary I came to DVXUser first. Loved the forum, knowledge base and people and bought a lot of used gear to build my Indy kit from some very trusted and great filmmakers.

I spent about 25K, flew out to Hawaii and filmed it but lost all my footage because the Firestore FS-100 is a piece of SH** .

On the plus side of things, all the audio guys on this forum including MattinSTL said not to skimp on the audio and to get the best that you could afford. Luckily, I had recorded all my audio separately on a tried and true Sound Devices 722, SD 302 mixer, and AKG 480/CK63 mic.

At the end of the day, I had no picture but I did have excellent sound.

So this little film is the culmination of a work that was just going to sit in the can. But with a little determination, a little dream, and some fortunate circumstances I got this little short film finished in an animated form and I wanted to share that here.

So just want to say thanks DVXUser community. It was this site that helped me in the beginning and still helps me to find the best tools to do the job right the first time.

Here's the link to The KoAloha Ukulele feature story that came out on this weeks Pacific Citizen and at the end of the article you can view the world premiere screening presentation we did for Ukulele Underground.

Please feel free to post your personal responses on IMDB. We are just gathering a collection of personal responses from the film and thought that was the best place to have it archived. :)

Many Thanks,
