The Viper is a top, top, top-end digital cinematography camera. What I find delightful about it is that it has a solid-state portable recording magazine that stores 10 minutes of footage to solid-state memory. Kind of like a P2 card on an HVX.

Cost: $54,000. For just that magazine.

Shoot, they're small, I'll take two!

What? Only ten minutes of storage to solid state memory? That'll never catch on. Ridiculous!

That makes the current price of P2 cards seem like a steal.

That's what Isaac and I were hinting at. It's basically a P2 card, but for the Viper. Now, to be fair, it's storing 4:4:4 uncompressed HD so it's a super-turbo-ultimate-mega P2 card; but the workflow is the same! :)

hvpz, I think you're confusing the two cameras. The Viper doesn't allow REV PRO, that's the Infinity, a much less expensive camera.

You're right Barry. I confused and mixed the two systems. Sorry for the bullshit.

May be it's the HVX200 P2 bundle for Europe makes me read in this particular way !

So the work flow is the same. Of course, changing the oil on a $300K Ferrari and changing the oil on my two tone (white and rust) 1985 Chevy Corsica is the same. When I need an attitude check, you are always there Barry. Thank you.

<satire>That's stupid, why wouldn't they also have a tape drive. I can't possibly work with just a 10 minute window. I think if they ever hope to make any sales they'll have to redesign and include a tape drive that records the full uncompressed signal.</satire>
