The Incredibles

I saw it last night on a preview.

it was the best Pixar animation I have seen!!!
it wasn't as funny as other Pixar films(but still funny), but I have to say it was the best action film I have seen in a long time. Special Effects and SF design was just brilliant too.
Highly recommended!!!

P.S: didn't like the short animation they showed before the movie.

Re: The Incredibles

I can't wait. I think it's going to be the best 3d animated film to date. Though I doubt it will do as well as Shrek II.

Re: The Incredibles

I saw Shrek2 at a movie theater too,
I have to say The Incredibles were about 8.26 times better than Shrek2.
There were moments that I got soooo into characters that I forgot it was CG animation.
Just amazing animation!

Re: The Incredibles

The animation looks absolutely stellar. They have this process called Render Man, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the first feature they've used it on. It looks so amazing.

8.26 huh? My buddy said 7.94, We'll have to see who's right! ;)

Re: The Incredibles

I saw it. Not written as well as "Monsters Inc." Great animation, very stylized.

But the plot, visuals, and music are more like a James Bond movie than a superhero/comic book movie.

Re: The Incredibles

I saw it last night. I thought it was beautifully executed and was a great story. I had to sit up front, so I'll probably go see it again and sit further back.

Re: The Incredibles

i need to see this still. looks great..."cars" looks like it might be fun too.

yeah, render man, its been around for a long time. almost every visual effects house that does vfx for film uses render man. its really really fast. some places use mental ray...but its slower...but it can do real world lighting called "global illumination" which is really close to how real light works. but in render man, you still have to fake real world lighting.

anyway, sorry for the geekin out..

what was the short they showed before?

Re: The Incredibles

The short was cute.

I like mental ray, though I only have the trial that comes with maya. :P

Re: The Incredibles

This movie was so great. There are so many moments in it that had me smiling from ear to ear. It did seem like a little too much for children though. Not in the way of violence and such, but in the pacing of the story. Another great one from Pixar. I am really not too sure about "Cars" though. Sure the teaser for the incredibles was just Mr. Incredible attempting to put his suit on it, but it still had me hooked. The cars teaser left me wondering where they could go with a story like that. Oh well, we'll have to wait and see. I will be seeing the incredibles again though.

Re: The Incredibles

yeah is "the cars" suppose to be an actual movie or just a short. Its suppose to comeout in November right? Well thats now. If it was an actual movie why would they release it so quickly?

Re: The Incredibles

It's coming out in November of 2005. It's a feature. I actually got the same reaction today from someone when I mentioned I'd seen The Incredibles. He said, I saw that clip last year and I thought it was just the short before the movie.

I loved The Incredibles... saw it twice this weekend. Definitely their best yet (and first action movie!), and the funniest movie I've seen in a while. I guess that shows how plebian my tastes are. Who said it was supposed to be a comic book movie? I thought it was very well written, not just for laughs, but the actual plot. Strong stuff.

Re: The Incredibles

Okay, I wasn't going to ressurect this thread, but since Boomerang already did, I have to gripe about something. It's not about the film. Frankly, I love the film, seen it twice already.

Last time I saw it I watched the entire credit reel, and the very last people to get credited are the Security Guards at Pixar. What the hell! I'm a security guard at Dreamworks, but did I get a credit in Shrek 2? NO!

I'm workin for the wrong animation house.

Gripe over.

Re: The Incredibles

I work for PDI, although technically it's now Dreamworks Animation. Since we became a public company, the name has been changed. I work at the site in Redwood City, and there's another one down by you in Glendale.
