The Incredible Hulk (2008)

I disagree. The whole feel of the trailer seems much more appropriate to the content. It's...grittier. And don't discount the benifit of having Ed Norton and William Hurt in the film.

Of course, this IS The Incredible Hulk (not a very good franchise to adapt in the first place), and the final slow-mo, both creatures jumping through the air screams Transporter (the film's directed by the guy who did that film).

So the trailer leaves me mixed. But I do certainly think it looks better than the Ang Lee crap-fest.

I think it looks WAY better than the '03 version. That one just plain sucked in my opinion. Hopefully this will be better; it at least looks darker.

I think the cinematography looks like ass. It has a cheap, b-grade horror film look to it. The first Hulk was an interesting failure (I loved all the split screen stuff) but it was a failure nonetheless. I like the idea of Norton as Banner, but I don't get the anger simmering under the surface from what we see in the trailer...Oh, and Tim Roth always rocks. He was the only good thing in Burton's Planet of the Apes.

I agree. I can't see what those studio guys see in this character. For a comedy or sketch piece, the Hulk is great. A scientist wearing glasses that, when pissed off, turns into a monster. Haven't this been done better before, based in better literature?

They are trying too hard to build a franchise with this. The character isn't worth it.

Spawn would probably be a movie that would benefit from a remake...

I still can't see how they can mess up with a "Punisher" adaptation- cast bruce willis for the role, do a "Gladiator esque" script, and voila, big bucks.

Definately agree about Tim Roth in Planet of the Apes.

I think Spawn is almost TOO dark to be effectively translated onto film. The first film was terrible.

Yeah, I was never into the spawn comics, but seeing that film, I loved the idea and wished it was a whole lot better. But I still have a soft spot for it. Kind of a guilty pleasure.

EVERY line in transformers was cheezy - that what made a bad film a terrible one.

The worst - when Optimus Prime, supposedly the leader of a super advance, super noble, super epic, super (etc.), says...

"Oops, my bad."

Great - the savior of the world talks like a teenage girl.

I was in my home town Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) when they were filming some parts with Ed Norton. I'm looking forward to recognizing some place :) Norton was amazed at how nice people were.
I love Norton and Roth and I sure hope they bring some depth to the whole film. I didn't care much for the first film.

Ok, I just watched the trailer. I was hoping to get chance to see these 2 acting wizard exchanging lines instead of blows and doesn't look like this is going to happen.

This looks better than Ang Lee's version. And I find Norton a better actor than Bana so I have some hope for this.

Oh man, it is great seeing The Zanzibar making it to the big screen. It is a seedy strip club in Toronto.

I am not holding my breath. It will probably suck. However, I did feel a wave of nostalgia for Bill Bixby with the green eyes shot. A little tinkling of the melancholy piano and I would probably be even tempted. I lose interest with the CGI monster stuff though.

per imdb, Norton gets a screenplay credit which - i hope - adds some emphasis to character. also, i notice robert downey jr as Tony Stark listed in the cast section. An Iron Man cameo would be kind of badass.

On a side note, a buddy of mine saw the Marvel keynote at ComiCon a few years back. He mentioned Marvel spoke of the intention to merge comic book worlds in their films. Pretty cool.

I've just double checked and you're right. Downey Jr IS listed in the cast section. That's intriguing....
