im talking about innovation... remeber godzilla is a classic in 1954 it was up against seven samurai for best japanese film... so it has always been a strong hold on monster films and films after it.

Holy cow.

Has anyone seen this? CGI is not bad. Well....not bad for 15 minutes, 'cause that's all I could stomach. Why is it the hire some of the worst ADR voice overs on japanese films? Dunno.

Turned it off the minute a giant mutated fish with teeth started running after the folks on the grassy knoll.

Papa out.
 
Should always watch foreign films in their natural languages, And the CGI gripe WTF we are talking WETA (you know Lord Of The Rings). Lay off the crack pipe papa smurf!!
 
Actually WETA or not, Papa Smurf's right on with the CGI. Some of it looks sweet, like when the monsters in the rain (rain always looks cool with cg, like with raph in the new turtles movie) but other times it's a bit crapola.

I like when people come up with a different take on a monster movie too, instead of just werewolves and vampires.

As a whole I think the movie was cool. Go check it out people!

Watching a dubbed engilsh version of a Korean film was your first mistake. Second mistake was turning off this great film.

Sheesh, I must be a noob. My bad on the context of Japanese vs Korean. Didn't notice. Appreciate the kind words, but I'll pass on the sucking.

Perhaps I should pop it back in and REALLY give it a chance. I'm so darn picky so I really need to expand a bit.

dam man, you almost caught a beat down from these guys, lol. i'm scared to even go check it out now.
 
Just watched it in Hd on my 8' screen everything holds up very nicely including the CGI, only problem was a couple of minute long blank spaces my only guess would be a poorly supervised transfer, replacement on it's way.
 
Well Spidey will probably hate me but I thought this movie was terrible. I was really looking forward to something fun and silly. When the fish-monster ran up on the hill and started eating people, I was like, "This is awesome!" Then that was followed with... oh about... 90 MINUTES OF PEOPLE IN ROOMS TALKING. I was bored out of my mind. My family watched it and as the movie went on, they started disappearing one by one. By the end, I was the only one left. I'm trying to expand their minds on foreign films. It'll be another year before they trust me with a pick again.
 
Did I miss something? Were we all supposed to start a 'The Host' thread yesterday? :)
 
It's the latest fad. I'm starting my Host thread tomorrow. Just have to watch the film one more time to get ready. LOL
