Did you get people that would stop, turn their heads, and then show an uncontrollably huge smile and start giggling? We get that all the time when we go out with her. A lot of times people instantly snap a camera phone picture too. Good fun.
We got them because they were like $12 and protect her eyes, but the entertainment value was more than we ever could have realized.

Yeah we definitely got some looks, laughs, thumbs up.
When we were in NOLA all we needed was the street car, our legs, this scooter, and 2 $10 cab rides home a month from the big grocery store. No car in other words. Spent about $5 a month in gas. $100 a year in insurance. Hard to beat. So we got the Doggles, as you said, to protect his eyes from gravel or whatever. Now that I think of it, he's never been as happy riding in a car. He's too short to hang his head out from the seat, and is always squeaking and trying to get higher up on the door to get the same high / overload his hound smeller.
