Re: The Grudge

Nah, it wasn't scary to me at all, more comic to me than anything. I laughed a lot during this movie.

To be honest, I haven't seen the ring yet.... even the japanese version.. I'm so ashmed.. cause I'm big into asian films and seen tons of them, but not ringu, I needt to rent that.

Re: The Grudge

This movie didn't work for me at all. I'm with Woodson, it's garbage. Good trailer, awful film. Thumbs down.

Re: The Grudge

I second, er, fourth that opinion. This was probably the worst movie I've seen all year...and I watched part of Gigli! Foley'd VOs aren't scary, especially when it's a cat growl over video of a boy opening his mouth (?) This movie was all "boo!" There was no psychological terror and certainly no suspense. The writing was horrible and extremely predictable. The acting was horrid. Nobody cared about the "characters." All this and I still almost got into a fight with 3-5 teens for talking during the beginning of it.
:( >:( ???

Re: The Grudge

The movie wasn't that bad, I mean it wasn't great. But I had people in front of me laughing the whole time. So I guess that says something. But the end was a total downer. Like they ran out of ideas so just threw together anything. On a scale of 1-10 I give this movie a 3.

Dude, I was walking through my living room and it was on, so I watched it for a second becauase I saw Al Pacino (which suprised me) I said "I didn't know Al Pacino was in this movie." And my friends said "This is the first time we've seen him, and it doesn't really make sense why his character is even here." And then after the movie they said he never came back again.

So, in conclusion, PACINO! What are you doing!?

Re: The Grudge

Good old Al Pacino...goes from Godfather and Scarface to SimOne and Gigli. Of course when you have DeNiro sobbing like a little "female dog" in those lame arse 'Analyze This' and 'Analyze That' movies, anything is possible.

Re: The Grudge

If you guys want to watch a really freakin scary movie, watch Gliter. Man Mariah Scary.

I havent see the American version, but I've seen the Ju-on version and all I have to say is if I was 10 years old, Ive be peeing in my pants. Nothing scares me now but women with hairy arm pits.

BS

Re: The Grudge

The Grudge was about an 8 on a scale of 1-10 for scares, but a 2 for plot. The ring was much better. Going into the ring i had no expectations and that made it even better, but with the grudge, there was all this hype so it had alot to live up to. Ringu was great for it's time. I think it was actually made in 97(correct me if im wronge) and was very effective for what it had to work with at the time(Budget). I havn't seen Ju-on yet but Ive heard its better than its English counter part.

Re: The Grudge

Does anyone remember the indi film "The Basketcase"? It's about a guy who's born with a deformity where his little brother is litteraly attatched to the side of his body. This movie scared me than any other movie i've seen. Then agian I was only 7 years old at the time.
