The Green Hornet Movie

yikes. I love Seth Rogan but this is a case of Hollywood being Hollywood...thinking they are smarter than everyone else. Seth Rogan? You kidding me? Total miscast. It's like the Batman cast experiment (Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney) revisited. And, I like Michael Keaton...he was aiight. But he was NEVER the perfect choice.

I like the fact it's obviously a bit tongue in cheek... a nice change from the other superhero movies. I'll probably go see it.

I'm getting a little tired of these 're-imagining' directors' tongues, in my cheek.

I'm just sayin'.

I was just thinking the same thing.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm right now on the third floor of the NYC library where a guy sitting at the next table directly across from me has a handlebar mustache. He is a spitting image of Daniel Day Lewis in "There Will Be Blood." True story...

Which is why I'll see it too. Also, since I never really read the comics, I don't have too much going as far as character expectations.

It might be one of those that sucks as a revamp comic movie, but could still be good if you consider it a stand-alone work. Who knows.

I do enjoy John Cho's work, and it's cool to see him getting more parts. Just sayin.

Unfortunately, I'm just as enthusiastic to see this as I have been about any other hero/franchise reboot that's come along in the past few years. I'll probably pay good money to see it. I'd pay to see Will Ferrell in the role too. Despite the disaster that was Land of the Lost. It comes back to escapism - pure and simple.

Entertainment Weekly, which is a sorry rag (but happens to be the rag I have at the beach with me this week), had a great rant / editorial about the sad, creatively-bankrupt state of mainstream studio features. They went to pains to keep the work of independent filmmakers out of their article, but they were vicious in their assessment of franchise entertainment.

It certainly validates what people post here on this forum about the majors.

I always thought a prime Alec Baldwin would have made the perfect Bruce Wayne.

...and maybe Batman.

Shut up! Seriously. Shut up. I have been preaching that casting choice for YEARS to scoffs and bemused looks. I have ALWAYS said it was Alec Baldwin. There was nobody else. Back then, he hadn't had so many comedic turns under his belt. Young, thin, good looking...alpha (revisit the opening monologue from Glengarry Glen Ross).

Finally, someone else in the world who agrees. What a relief. I aint crazy afterall.

Hate me or love me for it, I gotta stand by the choice of Christian Bale for the Batman remakes though. Overall, except the leading lady, casting has been exceptional in those flicks I'd say. Interested to see who takes over for Ledger as Joker... (unless that info's already out there somewhere?)

Well, that tongue in cheek style really ruined Punisher: War Zone. What really stings is that they had the perfect Punisher with Ray Stevenson.

I know about zero in terms of The Green Hornet. I always confuse it with The Green Lantern. Wasn't Bruce Lee in one of those when it was a TV show in the 70's?

I'm getting so sick of these obscure D list comic book adaptations.

Green Hornet, Jonah Hex. What's next, that little Devil cartoon character?

He took a shot at it with The Shadow.

lol

It wasn't shot in 3D, they did the crappy post 3D conversion process at a cost of around $9m.
