The GoPro Hero 4 has been officially ANNOUNCED!

Anybody know if the Hero 4 Black supports DCI 4K? The 3 supported it up to 12 fps. Does the 4 do it up to 24 fps? Or is it UHD only?

Anyone excited by the $130 Hero?

Name is a bit confusing, but it looks similar to a HD Hero 2, but a little smaller & built into the waterproof housing. You just open up the back door to charge / swap the Micro SD card. Doesn't look like it has a HDMI (or Component / Composite) video output, nor does it look like you can attach a LCD / Battery / WiFi bac pac. So a very simple POV camera w/ little fuss & a low price.

Is it better to buy from B&H photo or direct from GoPro if the price is the same? Just wondering on warranty or returns. I like the Hero4 Black.
On B&h they have the adventure series and music. On GoPro website they have the standard, surf, and music.
I want this for outdoor use and fishing. Maybe Windsurfing a little, but I would use a helmet cam.
The surf edition has surf mounts, the music edition has music mounts, what does the standard have that the others don't have? Also, is B&H adventure series the same as GoPro surf of standard?

I think I am placing my order soon. Anyone buying now, or are you going to wait for reviews?

Is the field of view always mildly distorted out to the sides no matter what the res, or does normal fov take it away all together (In the first 3 GoPro's anyway)?. I've never had a GoPro.

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more conversation about the shots in this promo and the older promos that are clearly not GoPro footage. It's so easy to spot the distinctly better color science and reduced lens distortion from different equipment.

you really think that shots in their promos are not all gopro? you do realize that not all gopro shots are uber wide? my son travels and shoots tons of gopro footage and he hardly ever shoots it wide or ultra wide but rather medium and narrow from a steadicam smoothie. he is constantly asked on youtube by people asking if he's using another camera or thinking that this can't be a gopro because most people only think "very wide". plus you can fix the barrel vibe with software in post.

i find it hard to believe that other cameras are being used.
