The good ole days (aka - sub-clipping)

I know I'm being retarded here, but whatever happened to sub-clipping? I'm using premiere 1.5 and whenever I set an in and out point on the main clip and drag it into the bin window, it merely creates a duplicate of the entire main clip with my desired in and out points instead of JUST the "sub clip" that I want. "Sub clip" doesn't even come up on a search. I coulda swore this didn't use to be the case. I'm going crazy here.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you could do it in 5.1. I spent a lot of time looking for the way in Pro 1.5 but there's only the way you describe. I don't know if it really makes any difference or not but it's definitely not as clean.

It makes a difference for me because if the main clip is really long, say 30 minutes, and your sub-clip is 20 seconds, you only have that little sliver of space to navigate within. I know there are other ways to navigate, but being able to just pull up the sub-clip made it so simple.

May have mis read it but I think it is back in 2.0.

BTW navigating to In and Out points in a clip : try shortcut "Q" and "W"
