Have been on a Soderbergh mission recently and watched this a week or so ago... Totally love B&W noirs but this one just sort of slipped by... agreed about the Maguire role, he does stick out like a sore thumb throughout his scenes...miscast rather than bad acting I'd hope!!
Despite some quite nice nods to its various film influences the plots a total washout. Really enjoyed After Effects (despite Jude Law) but I think my favourite Soderbergh is Solaris, totally awesome. Enjoyed Out of Sight on recent rewatch but it feels dated and just too implausible to me now... the sex/restaurant scene is breathtaking though!! When I can be arsed I'll crack on with Che Part 2, Part 1 was a total slog!!
