the fire made it delicious...

I'm going out to a party tonight and thought I'd be a contributor to the cool factor, so I got a bottle of 151 and have been practicing with making flaming drinks. I've been an amateur bartender (for parties, never for pay) for years but this is a fun upping of the ante. I found you really want a pour spout on the 151. If you just dump it in the glass, it will mix too much and won't be flammable. I've now got it down: I put an ounce of cranberry juice in a thick glass, then pour in about an ounce of 151 and let it burn. It produces an attractive blue flame that's rather sturdy. I can blow on it and get quite an audible "rushing" flame sound before fully blowing it out and pouring Red Bull on top. Woohoo!

I recommend the boston harbor light. In a shot glass, pour Bailey's Irish Creme, then Meyers Dark Rum. Top it off with a layer of 151 and light on fire.

The flame alchemizes the alcohols into something way greater than the sum of it's parts. Having about 3 of them is a great way to start your evening.

I've had plenty of Baileys (though I don't have any on me at the moment), never tried Meyers Dark Rum. How long do you leave it burning? Do you then drink it straight from the shot glass or do you dump it in with something else?

I just leave it burning for a few seconds because you don't want to burn away all of the alcohol. You blow it out and then drink straight from the shot glass.

An ideal harbor light has baileys and meyers poured in equal, separate layers, and then a smaller layer of 151 on top.
