The films of David Cronenberg

Master of Horror
I think this man deserves his own thread...

Let's talk about this master filmmaker!

Has he matured or "sold out"??? Is his signature gone??

His best film???

etc, etc, etc....

I love David Cronenberg. Nice thread.

Rabid is epic, Shiver's is great, The Brood, Scanners, Videodrome....

Wonderful stuff.

The Dead Zone is a vastly underrated horro gem and one of the better KING novels to hit the screen. The FLY kicked ass...

I have too say DEAD ZONE is my favorite so far (Have'nt seen HISTORY).

I absolutely love Rabid and The Brood. Two truly unique and horrifying films.

Agree The dead zone is def. one of the best King adaptations, great performance by Walken.

The Fly - great, only I'm not a big Goldblum fan.

Dead Ringers is probably third on my list, after the Rabid and The Brood.

Simply, there is no one like him.

I haven't see his recent work either, History or Spider.

Gota love Cronenberg.

Check out "A History of Violence" ASAP.

I was totally surprised. I have to say it was the best film of 2005. I think it is his best work to date.

My favorite though is "The Fly". It's in a league of its own.

"The Dead Zone" was an amazing early gem.

"Dead Ringers" is some truly twisted sh!t. Seriously.

He has a pretty damn impressive filmography.

To bad he doesn't get the credit he rightfully deserves.

Cronenberg isn't quite a household name, even though many have seen at least a few of his films.

Liked it. I think I liked the David Hedison version more, though.

Tee hee hee. After watching it, I was up in my room doing a tiny fly voice: Help me! Help me!

And my Father came running upstairs, "What's the matter?!"

The film of his that I can't get past is Naked Lunch. What a strange ... sureal ... disturbing ... [insert favorite adjective here] film. I'm not even sure I like the movie. I've seen it like 15 times and everytime I'm thinking "I'm not sure I like this movie." But a week or a month passes and I'm thinking, "I should give Naked Lunch another chance."

Disclaimer: This is not a promotion of the movie Naked Lunch. If, after reading this post, you feel compelled to watch Naked Lunch I cannot be held responsible for the repercussions of your actions.
