I can't believe I forgot to mention this after I got back from Haiti...

The doctor we were with gave us all an "electric fly swatter"... I laughed about this for days... thinking it was like an electric hammer.

That is... until she got it out and used it... I hadn't witnessed it's supreme power over insects for days... I left mine in the package thinking it was a rediculous idea. The thing looks like a small badmitton raquet with a button on the handle.

Any-hizz-oo... the long and short of it is that these things are the coolest invention ever! Have you ever been pestered by mosquitos and tried for several minutes to spot the bugger and "clap" it in your hands? yeah me too.

Or how about gnats pestering you while you try to work on a car or something out in the driveway? You can't see them and trying to shoo them away yields nothing but a half second of relief!

ENTER THE ELECTRIC FLY AND MOSQUITO SWATTER!

You just push the button and swish it through the air a few times... all the sparks tell you that you're getting the job done...

The best part is that I was just on ebay and I see that they are DIRT cheap! I had no idea that you could get them for about $5 each! I totally assumed (after witnessing the power) that it was like a $50 item from Sharper Image or something!

So anyway... I just bought an 8-pack and all my friends locally are getting one.

Once they arrive I'll post a short video clip...

I want one of those! I used to get such a kick out of those bug zappers back in the 80's. The sound it made was just comical. It's all fun and games until a squirrel gets in it. :grin:
 
Man, I thought it actually was gonna "wack" the bugs, like how you would use a normal swatter (or in my Case the "The Guardian", or "The Independent"), but after I watched the video...

My Dad has had one of these of the past 5 years and its hours of entertainment. The first time my little brother shocked me with it I thought he cut my finger because I didn't know it was electrical.
