I couldn't really stay in contact with the editor, since she has her own life and schedule, and lives a bit aways. I gave her the footage and a few months later, he is done and wants to be paid, at the next meeting.
But I feel I should see the movie first and what not. Also, we never got to go over this, but I don't know what the final sound mix is, whether it's stereo, mono, 5.1
This may sound like I am being too paranoid or negative but it's happened to people I have collaborated on filmmaking and I was warned to watch out for this.
This is my first time so I wasn't sure what to expect or how to proceed professionally, but I am going to meet with the editor, but I want to make sure it's good first before I pay a few thousand dollars for a few months of work. But at the same time I guess I am just worried the editor will want to draw up a new contract as a result. How do you think I should go about this?
