I'm sure lots of people here do not know about this man. Came across this video for the first time in years while looking at Digibeta stuff and thought i'd share.

holy crap this guy is good! One of the hardest to pronounce production companies I've seen.
This is an interesting and cool clip, I recall when all of this was going on. Also, how many clips are using Steely Dan Two Against Nature loops? They get points for that in my book, love the Dan.
I was curious how Filmlook fit into all that as that was the company I was familiar with for holding the patents on 24p that were licensed by the various camera manufacturers. I had a variety of projects processed through Filmlook in the early and mid-90's. Towards the end they mentioned a joint patent. Curious about the details on that. Sounds like these folks were focused on a progressive scan camera while Filmlook was oriented towards post-processing 60i footage into an emulation of 24 frame originated material--different approaches to the same end game.
I should mention to you then that the first of 3 bunny rabbits I have right now I and my partner named Steely Dan after the band.. and yes, that rabbit actually dances to their music, most interestingly enough to the song "Dirty Work".. part of why we named him that haha.
Here he is the little bandit :b

I remember FilmLook well myself.. I remember having a sample DVD of theirs where one of the big examples was they used their software for the live episode of ER which I believe was shot DigiBeta
Aww, he's cool looking. Love his color.
I remember the early Filmlook days on some network shows. I think one of the first was a John Larroquette show(post Night Court). I don't remember the name, but I remember it having this off, not quite video, but definitely not film, look. Obviously things improved as the years went on. I worked on a long running sports documentary series that used Filmlook during our SD/Betacam acquisition days. Then when they switched to HD they switched to originating on 24p video with F900's(plus got rid of one of the aspects of the "signature look" of the original days of the series that we all had grown to hate).
