The compact Canon XC10 has caught my eye

I tend to favor minimalism and limitations, and I generally steer clear of the hype surrounding new product releases. With its smaller sensor and fixed lens, the Canon XC10 actually seems superior to its "big brother," the C100 Mark II. It performs well in 4K, though it’s even better in 1080p. I wouldn't be surprised if it outperformed cameras with larger sensors; often, it is precisely within the realm of limitations that the real advantage lies...

On paper I think it is attractive.

Its an old camera now. - slow af, bad UI, sketchy EVF setup that blocks touch screen.

My canon small camera journey ended up with me discovering how extremely good an R6i and 24-105 (F7.1) is.

Today an R8 and 24-105 is probably amazing too.

Every way I looked at it a camera with a removable lens and a $100 50mm would win for getting beauty shots when the time pressure is off

You just have to have that look in your pocket.

XLR.. Ive got a diety PR4. It is as small as many XLR top handles. for mirroless. Or you can leave it at home, or plugged into the sound desk.

Its a 2015 camera - they are just clunky.

Today (check the model) canon have a top dial C1/2/3 which enable you to hop from 25p to 50p or other things that you set up.

That is a very strong interface.

Please consider R8 and 24-105 and 50 1.8 unless you are getting this for £500

The fact that the camera is from 2015 doesn't make it bad; in fact, for me, it’s a plus.

Slow autofocus is forgivable—though fast autofocus is certainly an advantage.

As for the user interface—if you’re referring to the grip and button layout, or if the menus are disorganized—well, perhaps that’s reason enough for me to switch from a C10 to a Panasonic G9...

If a 2000 Opel Corsa gets you to work just fine, there’s no reason to go for some massive 2026 Audi!...
