The Cine City / DV City

I was about to order some stuff at this shop : www.dvcity.com
But while i was looking for some feedback of one of their product i found this one shop : www.thecinecity.com.

Both have similar products (and name's company) even if overall, dvcity has more products. And this make me feel timid about ordering.

Well i just wanted to know if anyone has any feedbacks about the shop itself/customer service. www.dvcity.com

Thanks

They are the same company, other people here have purchased from them, they almost always say the products are crummy.

Where are you reading that? I bought a Follow Focus from them and it serves my purpose. I hear the matte box could be a little sturdier on the mount, but this forum just really isn't in support of Cine City. If you check out the cinema5d.com forums, you can find more information about their products and people who have bought their stuff.

EDIT: Granted, I only use their stuff with a DSLR for video, so maybe it is different for larger video cameras.

Whether a product "serves my purpose" is independent of whether it might be "crummy" or not. There is a place for both in the world, but it is good to know the difference in order to make an informed decision.

I should have rephrased then, for all of you who like to argue semantics. I use the products on paid gigs, where money and time is on the line...and it works. If it were "crummy", it wouldn't hold up in such an environment.

So the two company are the same ? I don't really see the point to put online 2 web-shops then...

KKeller, i'm aware some products from this company might not be strong/reliable enough but i'm only looking for a clean looking shoulder rig to modify a bit for my HMC/DSLR and i do think two rods with a soft shoulder pad and some grips should not cost that much. I just want a basic support to adjust to my personal usage so it's going to be good enough i guess. I'm more worrying about the company itself actually.

Thank for the information.

Try buying from them through Ebay, Paypal will protect you!

Anyway, I bought their Matte Box and Follow Focus for $620 and maybe I got luck, they look and work great~~~!!! Only took 3 days shipping to USA (DHL Courier) I was really satisfied and use them very often. I compared Redrock FF from my buddy and DVCity Proaim FF... they feel same to me. The play on the FF was about 1.5 - 2mm!! Awesome!

Mattebox feels little lighter but it work for me because heavy Matte Box only put more weights. Only problem I had was one of the screws was lose so the side flag fell off. It was an easy fix so no worry.

Overall, I thought it was ggod deal.

I highly recommend!
