I took the idea from someone in another video forum. He obviously experience the same thing.

hahah.. there're good ones I work with. From the video, you can tell one of the guys knowing he's standing in front of the camera. However, he still proceeded pretend not knowing he's blocking the camera.

I would have went off sticks and got in front of him. That or stuck a few bars of soap in a sock and had a talk with him outside!

Good thing is I have two cameras position in different angle. So I can cut back and forth to find the useful shot in editing. Even so, they were all over the place. At cake cutting and games, they were both standing left and right few feet in front of the couple.

The sad part is, the bride told me they are professonal photographers.

I don't think videographers get no respect. It's more working with some idotic photographers that they think they are glassy transparent.

Look, those photographers fully know you are there. Some don't respect you. I get they have a job to do but so do videographers.

It's true.. they were aware of my existance and still proceed to block my view. That's an selfish act.

Videographers get respect if they command it. If you sheepishly stand in the corner hoping the photographers get out of your way, you'll end up with footage like this.

These photographers do look pretty annoying though.

Photographers RULE!!!!

Seriously, still photography can convey with the blink of an eye, things video or film simply can't.

That's just an unfair statement. I have tried to move my tripod, zoom in and pan to avoid the photographers. For two photographers standing 3 feet in front of the bride and groom on left and right, there isn't much I can do. I don't want to move close to the bride and groom just like them. That will block everybody's view. The live audience also can't get a good view of what's going on at the ceremony and reception.

You earn respect by showing your personal quality and professionalism. You don't just command for respect.

A wedding dvd gets little play, but there are millions of wedding photos being shared and looked at, and put on desks and hung on walls.

I have to side with the photogs on this one, I think the clients would rather some creative editing but a great picture of their first kiss.

Or the photographers can stand back and use the telephoto lens. They don't need to stand 3 feet in front of the bride and groom.

For the bride and groom, if all they want is just the big kiss photo hang on the wall, they can do so in a separate photo session. The ceremony is for their friends and family to witness the event, not just for photo op.
