The Cabin in the Woods

It has a 91% rating on RT...so curiosity won me over.

**No spoiler**

I'm not really into the horror genre, but this was enjoyable. I also enjoyed the fact that the trailer doesn't give away "the big picture".

When the proverbial "all hell breaks loose" moment arrives, I even giggled much in the same way (I suppose) that fans of the genre probably do...which was really weird for me.

The first two threads on this film garnered no interest, but this is at the top of my queue as I've heard almost nothing but praise for it.

I had searched for previous threads and none were found. I have since cleared my search preferences and now I see those previous threads...my bad.

It's not grand cinema, but it's a fun little indulgence. Some aspects are well thought out.

It's clever, unique, and mixes the right dose of humor and horror. It takes away stupid character decisions by pushing them down the rabbit hole.

+1 I thought it was an interesting take on the genre

Favorite part was when all hell started to break loose. Was the moment I'd always wanted to see in horror movies

That sequence is a favorite because of all the hidden gems. My friends posted screenshots of the betting board asking "Who's Kevin?". All the creatures in the security cams require a pause or replay.

I'll admit the beginning is slow until Marty arrives but from there it's a rollercoaster ride.
