I attended the Las Vegas Bootcamp and it was fantastic. Learned alot and met a great group of people.

Did Bena demonstrate his version for the Mac of DVRack? Wish I could have been there. I'm sure it was an awesome day.

Bena did demonstrate his version for the Mac of DVRack. Looks Great. I have to say that the time spent just with scene files was worth the money. I went down to Bleeker Street with my HVX afterwards and put it to good use. Thanks Barry, Jarred, Evin & Noah!

i agree with chris, lots of very good information. well worth the time, effort and $. folks from able cinema, who hosted the event at their facilities, were equally gracious.

barry spoke for nearly 2.5hrs going thru and explaining each and every camera setting. i filled up a notebook scrawling notes as i attempted to write and understand all in the same nanosecond. jarred, evin, noah all went thru each of their respective specialities with detail and professionalism. plenty of questions from the floor were answered thoughtfully and always with a sense towards informing and sharing of experience. the vibe in the room was pretty relaxed. and that good feeling also came from the attendees. i met some pretty nice folks from as far away as richmond, va and as local as fellow new yorkers.

i have to say, my head was swimming with information by the time the event concluded at nearly 7pm. it also left me very hunger to be willing to push my camera to its full capabilities and undoubtly, that only comes from spending the time to experiment while taking chances on how to best use this rig, and finally to be willing to make mistakes on the path towards knowledge. sorry if i sound preachy, i'm just ready to get to work! thanks to all who were involved.

ps-i forgot to mention a hvx200 user by the name of marc singer who spoke of his use of the hvx200 in the making of his latest film. he gave a great talk. couldn't help myself so i had to go up and shake this guy's hand for challenging every one of us to be better film-makers.

Just to second what everyone else is saying, I thought the bootcamp was great. The attendees seemed to be an international group and included folks from as far away as Indiana in the US. I was looking over my notes this morning and couldn't believe how much useful information there was. BenA's preview of his Mac monitoring app and Marc Singer's Q&A session were also great additions. Thanks again to Jared, Barry, Evin and Noah.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.. you all were great, and we had tons of great questions and alot of you shared some great stories.

My favorite thing about the bootcamps is meeting you guys, its great to finally meet face to face people we have been talking with for months if not years.

Thanks again for coming. I had a lot of fun and made it into a vacation to NYC too. Really felt great to see everyone there and so into the Bootcamp. :)

I'd also like to say how great the boot camp was. I was one of the novices and it was just what I needed!

Thanks again,
Chris

It was a great investment and the most informative day I have spent in a very long time. Information overload in fact, but that is a good thing. Well worth the time and the money. Not only did I learn loads about my new equipment, but after seeing the demo reel projected I confirmed to myself the choice I had made with the HVX200. Nothing else out there can match this camera for price and performance.

Thanks very much to the Boot Camp crew, the special guests, the folks and Cine Able Tech, and everyone who turned out.

I can't wait for Barry's book to arrive, and then I can soak in more of this great stuff.

Now I need to order that LitePanel kit!

Thanks again.

I flew from Indiana to NY just for this class. my plane was 3 hours late in arriving, and made me wait 3 hours before leaving at 3am sunday morning-and it was all still worth it. i have been telling the rest of my team here in Indiana that i feel like i learned more in one day than i would have in 1 year of hit and miss production. so now i'm ahead on the learning and can spend that year making even better stuff. thank you all for your generosity in time and willingness to share what you have learned. i took tons of notes, but am still excited about the book coming out-it will help me keep it all straight.

Very worth my time, energy, and money.

thanks again,

Hawaii sounds awesome! another trip i'd love to take. a little harder to convince my wife "it's to learn more honey". Worth the effort though! i've done a few more shoots since the class and am really able to use what i learned.

My FS100 is still doing a great job-still studio on a tripod-but really a great tool for what i do most of the time. trying to earn some more cash for P2, but in the meantime this works very nice in a controled environment.
