The BEST directing book and more

You may try this. It has lots of information on making a film. "The Declaration of Independent Filmmaking: An Insider's Guide to Making Movies Outside of Hollywood", by Mark Polish, Michael Polish, and Jonathan Sheldon (the guys who did Northfork and Twin Falls Idaho). Very, very good.

when you say "lots of infomation" it seems like your saying it like its a bad thing
or too much. Is it overwelling or something ?

Yes "Directing Actors" is excellent, although it's not about general directing.

Let me second this one-- I learned an awful lot from it!

That being said, however, remember that there is no book that ACTUALLY trains you to be a director... you just have to go out and do it!

David Kuznicki

Jeff Young's "Elia Kazan, The Master Director Discusses His Films" is excellent. Kazan changed the face of American theater and fims in the 40's and 50's, was a great teacher (founder of the Actor's Studio) and conveys his ideas with tremendous clarity.

this one does, it pretty much goes over everything.
