The AT-PRO7A

Hello,

I'm trying to improve my audio and was about to buy the Audio-Technica AT PRO7a. but I can't find much information about it's uses in film. Is this mic any good? I have a Rode 2 and I want to get at least one omnidirectional mic and a cardioid condenser to try to get the best audio possible. Is this a good choice. Anyone have experience with this mic?

Looks OK, but it also looks a bit large. Really depends on what you plan to use it for. If your doing narrative films and want an invisible lav this doesn't look like it's a great choice. If your doing docs it doesn't matter much. But it looks like a decent inexpensive mic. Getting the two mics your talking about isn't going to get you "the best audio possible", only a sound person who knows what they are doing will get you that. It's kind of like getting a new lens for your camera and expecting it to make you a better filmmaker.
