The Apprentice- tryouts? anyone?

Do you know anyone personally who tried out? How soon after they tryout does the show get taped?  and how long do you have to live in NYC for?

Please try and refrain from commenting on the show itself or reality tv in general.

just wonderin. I have a small support base that thinks I should go for it..so I am considering. TIME is a huge issue though, because I work for myself and have unbreakable commitments in the next 8 months.

((edit-add))
If you want to comment on the show..go for it. I won't get mad :)

Re: The Apprentice- tryouts? anyone?

Just a blind guess, but I would think it would be taped soon after casting. Busy for the next 8 months is likely a deal breaker. :-/

I would suggest submitting a tape or going to the casting call and I imagine you would get tons more info. If you get picked, you could decide if you want/can do it then.

If you're interested in trying out, you should just go for it. Because the odds are astronomically against you, forget any practical considerations. If you were to get picked, my guess is you'd have a whole different perspective on those "unbreakable commitments". :)

Re: The Apprentice- tryouts? anyone?

I had friends tried out for many of those reality TV's and of 9 I know, only 2 made it on screen. American idol, she made it to the top 20 and on Fox’s The Little Groom. She was actually the tallest one there. Plus it doesn’t hurt to submit a tape and see where it goes from there. If you make it, then you have the choice to go further with it or not. If I had a choice to be on a reality TV show, it would probably be fear factor. People trippin out eating cow tounge, brains, worms, shite in Asia, we eat that crap all the time. ;D

I'm not a huge fan, but I do thinks its funny how the street smarts group is consistently kicking ass on the book smarts group in this particular series. From my experiences, thats definitely reality.

I'm shooting a tryout video for someone this weekend. I figure the producers have a formula. A set of pre-determined character traits which they believe will create the most entertaining interactions--they just need to find people who fit the bill and have "the look." You know, the assertive one, the soft-spoken-yet-firm one, the natural leader, the one everybody loves, the one everybody hates, etc.

Think so? Wanna be part of their experiment? ;)

I would guess it's even deeper then that - Almost a psychological profile if you will. They want conflicts. Conflict means ratings. This season is proof of that. He's made it painfully clear in the past he only prefers formally educated people, even to a degree of Ivy League snob. Pitting educated against non-educated is just a ratings hook. Trump is not really looking for a president. I think if a person comes off as smart, determined and most importantly stubborn they have a good shot.
