The Anomaly - Pizco Films

I just finished my latest creation a little while ago. It is called, "The Anomaly", and while it wont win any awards for an original story, it is still a fun little movie to watch with some action. This movie was really made for fun, but we are planning on buying a DVX100a and starting the REAL work soon. This movie was shot with a Sony VX2000, but it shows how "home-video" things look without 24p. I have rented a DVX before, and all i can tell you is that I desperately need one. But, I somehow need to raise the money for one. By the way I am 16 years old, and everyone that made this movie are all under 16 years old. You can watch it by clicking the link below, let me know what you think!

Very nicely done………. I like it a lot. Wish I had time to make a film like that.

Re: The Anomaly - Pizco Films

This was fun if not original (you said that already). Wow. When I was your age I had a record player. :p How times change. Nothing is cooler than seeing 'kids' (Im only 34 for christs sake) make films. Reminds of me of when I was about 15 or 16 making Super 8 adventures.

I liked this cause it was a real attempt to make a film. Forget about the originality issue; this was well thought out and executed. You still have alot to learn about lighting (I know you used availble light; but the dark bedroom could have been LIGHTED FOR NIGHT) and fight choreography (Actually when you slowed down the fight scenes it worked pretty well).

I liked this and you are going to be stoked when you get a DVX100. Keep shooting and keep us posted on your DVX100 purchase an inevitable films!

Re: The Anomaly - Pizco Films

I will definitely post my movies that I make with the DVX. We would have focused more on lighting and sound in The Anomaly, but we have absolutely no money to spend on this kind of stuff. We are currently trying to change that.

Re: The Anomaly - Pizco Films

Also dont forget to buy a decent tripod. I think a lot of shots could have benefitted from that. Good job...Keep shooting!

Re: The Anomaly - Pizco Films

Guys that was a pretty sweet film. Sound and lighting need a bit of work but no budget is understandable. I am a fellow 17 year old filmmaker and knowing there are at least a few other young filmmakers out there makes me happy. Once you get the DVX you will be extremely happy and you will never want to touch any other miniDV cam again. Also a great way to make cash is to freelance. Obviously you know how to edit, start doing some weddings, filming special events. There is good money in most of it. The VX2000 will be just enough for the freelancing. I am assuming you use Final Cut because the enging and opening credits where done in Livetype. Are you using Final Cut HD? PM me if you would like and we could talk some more about vid stuff. Peace, and keep it up. BTW where are you located?

Re: The Anomaly - Pizco Films

Well Kyle... As a matter of fact I am already a professional videographer for weddings, bar mitzvahs, and corporate events. I mostly edit them, and I have shot them twice. I am making some decent money, but it is all going towards my insurance payments for my beautiful 2004 Toyota Prius.

I am getting a second job in the summer, so hopefully I will make some money to buy the DVX, but the problem is we are going to FILM our new movie this summer, so I need the camera as soon as possible. Maybe i'll get a loan? Also, I am using Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro 2, on a Powermac G4 dual 1.25 ghz w/ 2 GB of RAM and a few external hard drives that amount to about 980 GB of storage (which still isnt enough for all of the work that I have).
