The 8K camera you don't want to see

I've thought for a while now that 4K might not have much demand for consumers, but 8K might be the big consumer leap, in the next decade or so.... where TVs will be projected on the full wall of a house, total recall style.

Images in the distant future will actually be projected into the air and you will be able to resize it with your hands or a voice command. They will also follow you wherever you go in the house. Need a bathroom break? Don't worry, what you are watching will follow you there too!

In the distant future there will be 1K punks shooting everything with artificially generated aliasing, moire, macroblocking, banding and rolling shutter in a 720p wrapper. Of course @30p and in full auto mode...

I think the higher resolution could really help in the diagnosis of certain diseases. In medical imaging, there is no such thing as too much information.

According to the 1921 book, "The world in the year 2000", we already cruise the streets in atomic cars, that are hovering on a magnetic field since 14 years now.

Funniest thing I've read all day.
