I care too. Since that seems to be the topic...why do you not care? Is it because of the agenda that you think the Academy has? Is it because you don't like seeing people recognized for achievements? Is it because you're not nominated?

Would love to hear the reasoning behind the term - "stroke fest".

I rarely, if ever, find the nominated movies to be entertaining. It just isn't my thing.

Also, somebody has to win every year whether it's deserved or not. It just seems meaningless after awhile.

So you're saying that there are not Oscar worthy films every year? How else would you prefer movies to be recognized for excellence?

And I believe, especially this year, there are some very worthy and worthwhile nominees.
 
I agree with you Kit - lots of Oscar worthy films this year in my opinion as well.

This has been one of the worst shows I've seen in a long time. Whoever thought Franco and Hathaway was a good idea should be shot.
 
The last time I watched the Oscars, I had just gotten back from Germany...not having seen a (new) film in over 5 years...and went to an Oscar party at which there was a pool where you had to write down your guesses for all the categories.

I won.

Kinda pointed out the meaninglessness of it, imho.
 
It was down to Inception and Social Network for me. I really wanted Inception to win it, but I can see why Social Network got it - it was a good soundtrack as well.

I can see what they were trying to do by bringing in the young people, but Franco always looks stoned to me. I don't mind Hathaway, she's decent. Franco is a dope.
 
Yeah, not a fan of Franco as one of the hosts but quite frankly I don't care who hosts it. I just look forward to the speeches and seeing what films won.

The theme song to Inception is my ringtone.
 
Actress in a leading role was a SUPER hard category. In my opinion, there was no clear winner. Natalie Portman essentially played two people, so I'm happy she won it and put Black Swan on the board.
