The 5 Obstructions

I've watched a little of this movie for the past two nights. I hope to finish it tonight. I rarely watch films in spurts like this, but it's really great. Anyone seen it, and have any comments? It's by Lars Von Trier and Jorgen Leth. Kind of. I like it alot, and I wish someone would stretch ME like that...
Inovative cinema...there's my niche.

Peace.

I haven't seen it, but it's supposed to be quite enaging...

Re: The 5 Obstructions

it's a bit weird for me. I saw the last part of it. wished to see the beginning. damn IFC or was it sundance?- only plays good stuff once in a while.

Re: The 5 Obstructions

It's definitely weird, but also interesting.
It's almost like a reality TV show format...
These guys are friends and filmmakers, and one guy challenges the other guy to re-make a movie he did in the 60's, except this time with a few 'obstructions'. It's random stuff...like the first obstruction was that he had to remake (just a portion of) the film in Cuba.
I think it's great that they're showing the darker side of the filmmaking process. People have the false impression that filmmakers are somehow elite artists whose lives are SO together that they have time to fart around and make movies...
Of course, the oposite is usually true. I think I really needed to see this movie for it's therapeutic value. You should see how the guy freaks out...it becomes about more than just shooting the movie.
