OMG, I was thinking the same thing. Why are they getting rid of the other guy or does he just not want to do it anymore?

Oh well. This guy could've been the next Tom Baker. I didn't get to watch as many of the shows as I would've liked but I think he was that good.

Tennant gives a good reason for leaving the show, but as many actors know, there's a hazard in having played a partiuclar role too well.

Good luck to him.

Anyway, the guy they chose seems a little too Twilight-y to me. Pretty risky for someone we won't see for at least another year.

I have to agree with David, all the way.

His interview was a little nerve-racking, and I don't know if that's going to be his costume - in the 'poster' at the top of the page.

True. We all know what happened to Tom Baker too after too many years playing the Doctor.

I dunno, I'll give him a shot. I am not a fan of Tennant cause he plays the Dr. like a Musical Theater Queen. I really liked Eccleston. He had a good mix of gravity and goof.

I think Tennant is doing a great job but you're right, he is totally different than Eccleston. Tennant's portrayal is very jolly and energetic while Eccleston was more calm and collected as well as being able to be threatening and powerful when necessary. I would've liked to have seen at least one more season with Eccleston before they changed to Tennant.

As for the new guy, I have no idea who he is but he looks kinda cool in the picture. I say let's give him a chance. He could be great, we never know.

Tennant's doctor was cocky too but in a funny overblown and loveable way. I loved that about him.
