I finally worked up the gumption to order a light kit. An Arri D2 Softbank. I deliberated and searched and price checked and ended up going with this one.
I have to thank Rush at EVS for his help and advice. If any of you are in the market for lighting, or other technical items for your DVX I can't recommend him more. I was deliberating over which kit to get and Rush pointed me to the one that would work best with my application. I was thinking of putting a kit together from various manufacturers and he had already done the math on the kit vs. individual thin and told me how i would save money by going this route.
He even gave me the sweet DVXuser discount.
Buying a lit kit was nerve racking for me as there were all these trade-offs and whatnot to think about. Rush managed to suggest the real-world things that made it much less painfull than I was making it.
I'm going to be shooting a music video soon and some of it will be shot with this new kit. So thanks again Rush and I'll keep you guys posted on how everything goes.
