I am just blown away by the quality of this 20 sec compressed Mov clip. Check it out full screen. This means I can go back and work on a script I had shelved because the animated parts weren't believeable

Impressive. The rotation is subtle but very smooth. Good job Mino! The only thing missing was a giant meteor heading towards the Earth. Curious what you're going to do with it? What do you have working in that big brain of yours? Oh no! That sounds like a cue for Pookie to find a photo of what's inside Mino's brain.
 
Wow how would have thought when I got up this morning I would travel into space and stair down at my home world. Good work Mino looks absalutely perfect.

Thanks guys ...Iv'e had nothing but dubious quality with 3d max renders after compressing for the web, this was a milestone for me in that I can put it online and still retain quality!:beer:


Are you guys seeing a magenta cast in the polar regions or is it my setup?

Yes PK there is a story I've been itching to get out since it's conception in 1980, I had put it away as I could never get graphics models that would compress and still pass my acid test.

I should also be living on the French Riviera, but alas I'm stuck for now with 3d max r3 which was released back in the Altair days.

Yes eek...But for the job I need it to do it preforms OK, I'm not getting Schreky or anything, just basic sci fi ship, space, planet type stuff. As you know, these apps are way out there price wise and since I just sold my last oilfield, it's gonna have to do.


This is the quality I was getting before, Longer clip and more parts than just earth, but it shows why I'm pumped about the new work

Wow. I too was waiting for a Meteor or nuclear Explosions to start up. Nice job. Now I know who to contact when I need to simulate the Zombie Virus spreading all over.
 
Thanks John...That stuff is childs play in max just a big ball with a map placed on it, Getting quality was picky. The next part is the time consumer for me, designing the ship that will be as important as the main character in the piece I want to create. When I get that done + some of the interior ship gadgetry and output with the same quality, I'll be doin the dance bigtime!
