THANK YOU, DVXuser

I joined recently but have been gfollowing thesite for about a year, this site is my filmschool, without it i'd be lost. Also, sorry for singling him out, but Barry Green is the man for putting the DVX book together!! Thanks again!

don't know how i missed a "thanks dvxuser thread" but cheers to that. *bows to jarred* "we're not worthy, we're not worthy"

Shall I send an E-card now? I'm afraid it would have to count as my submission.
...Damn it's over 10mb's. Hats off fellas! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Yeah good call on this thread, felt lately the fellowship has been faltering. Little spats etc. This thread is a timely reminder why we all come here.

P.S. Jarred how about a new status for those of us over a thousand posts..... say ummm Damn Senior Member or... Member entitled to drink with horse or... umm... **** its ben that many... btw my 1000th post video is coming, just waiting for the scaffolding I ordered :P

A BIG thanks from me as well.

I have pulled info from many sites and forums over the last 2 years. Aside from the fact that I am like a crack addict on this thing, DVXuser has been by far the greatest resource.

If ever in need... just sing the DVXuser himn and the lot of us shall aper in robes and with Wide Angle Lens Sabres, ooh I better go copyright that.

this site has saved me on four separate occasions so far and I assume many more to come. Thanks to everyone and our Pres. for the hard work and open, information laced atmosphere we have here.

Oh, yeah. When I first moved to California in 1979, you saw those "modified" bumper stickers quite often. I have to admit, though, I haven't seen one like that in quite a few years.

This one was in Germany. Berlin, to be specific.

1985 to be specific-er.

Oh, crap. Some of the people on this board weren't even born then.

do you own a dvx yet? i'm on the board now, but i still don't have enough money to get one. saving up still...

Yeah, got mine about 2 months ago from the marketplace, almost sold it twice in that timeframe due to all the cool looking footage coming out of the HVX... friggin hype almost killed our relationship. But it's probably better to learn to use what I have first before going out and buying a whole other camera with a steeper learning curve.
Just bought the Rode ntg2 mic and the cartoni focus tripd, gonna get the m2 next month.
Its funny, I got into filmaking this febuary, bought a palmcorder... returned it. Almost bought a gl2, cancelled the order... "Friend" wanted to unload his XL1 on me and almost sold me with a "it's thecamera they used on 28 days later" speech. But then i found DVXuser and learned too much great info to ignore. The rest is yet to be history though, I have been messing around with the DVX at parks and stuff, but have yet to produce a single short. I have loads of cool ideas, just gotta get out there and actually do them.

Cheers,

This site has become to mean and help me allot over the years. And the people that I have met and the events I have attended are top notch. The members here are what make this board worth coming to everyday. So thanks for everyone that has helped me and thanks for everyone that has kept this place alive with interesting conversation.

Have you worked on anything yet though? Could be cool to hash a project out...

Speaking of trying to work something out, I been trying to get my settings correctly to produce the kind of picture I want for two months now. Finnally got the look I wanted today, :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) It was from the default settings. I'll probably get :banned: for that statement, but its actually a testament to the power of this camera right out of the box.
