I just want to express my appreciation to the members of this forum for helping me to get through a very hard time.

Two and a half years ago I moved from Detroit back to my home town of Roanoke Va to become the primary care giver to my Mother, who had end stage renal disease treated with hemodialysis three times a week. She also had alzheimers disease and has had a rapidly deteriorating mental status of late. Since October of 2004, I have had to care for her almost 24/7. She passed away this morning. She passed peacefully in her sleep.

I just want to tell everyone here that coming to DVXUSER and talking to the great folks here has really helped me keep my head during the stressfull time of trying to care for my Mother. Thank you.

My condolences, David. Your mother was really lucky to have a son like you to care for her. I hope you can take a trip or do something nice for yourself. That's a heavy load to carry for so long.

Love and prayers for you, David. I'm sure it meant the world to your mom to have you close during this time.

I'll echo PK, I am sure she knew she had a great son. My families thoughts and prayers out to you and your family. Peace be with you.
