Texting man surprised by a bear

This happened literally two blocks from where I last lived in LA.

Isn't the advice when you see a bear to stand completely still? Would have made good Television!

That may be the advice, but it isn't the instinct.

Yeah, I see a bear two feet away, I'm running. Screw the advice. I'm actually not surprised this bear showed up there. When I lived in La Crescenta just about every type of wildlife went through my little yard; skunks, squirrels, possums, coyotes, raccoons, deer, even had wild parrots (!?) that made a daily flight over our house.
