Text Stroke past 100?

I'm a functionally average AE user. This seems like a simple thing, but I've asked around and tried everything I can think of and I haven't figured it out yet.

I'm trying to take white text, and have the Stroke animate from zero to the point that the stroke fills the frame in white. Stroke is keyframable, but it only goes up to 100, not nearly enough to fill the frame.

Ideas?

With CS5 on a mac, I couldn't replicate your limitation with stroke. Can you give more details? Are you trying to use the stroke effect or text attribute?

Well, there's a number of ways you could to do this but the closest one to replicating the stroke's way of expanding the white colour is by using yet another layer style (along with the stroke) and that is Outer Glow. Apply this layer style on your layer, set the Blend mode to Normal, Opacity to 100% and colour to white. Next, set the Spread to a bit over 90% (this figure depends on composition dimensions), increase the size until you can see it growing and lower the Range so that the edge is as smooth as it was with the Stroke effect alone. Once the stroke effect reaches 100, start keyframing the size of the Outer glow and you're done. If you still can't get the corners white, play with the sliders a bit, just for that last part. Hope it helps :)
