Text and compression with Adobe media Encoder

Hello,
First, thanks to everyone who helped me with my query yesterday, I have solved that problem, but now...

I have a clip that has some moving text at the beginning for a title, and when we compress it with AME, it's just terrible, you can barely read it, and it's all blurry.

The text is black on a dark blue background, so I think the problem is because the the colors are similar, they kind of blend together however you can't notice this in the editor or my QT reference files.

But the client wants to use that color, so is there anything in the compression step I can do to increase the readability of this text, aside from cranking up the bitrate and producing a 200MB file?

Here is a screenshot of what I mean,

And a link to the .flv file if anyone wants to download and watch it (VLC player plays flv files) http://www.mattbabinec.com/test/DavidHoffosAlum_forFLV.flv

I would love any advice your willing to give!

Thank You!!

You're running into a color-space issue. Because you're compressing to a medium that is 4:2:0 you will always have blocky issues when putting a hard blue line next to a hard black line.

You have a couple of options

1) Change the color to something that isn't full 255 in the RGB scale. Even though the client says "we want that blue" you can lower some of your levels and even add some Green and Red, and still have blue.

2) Try to add a soft edge to the sides of your fonts (a small blur could help)
