Texas Outdoor Videographers

Hello everyone. I'm looking to see if there is a group of folks who shoot outdoor (wildlife, fishing, hunting, etc) video in the Texas area.

We're in the process of launching an online outdoor magazine covering the fishing/hunting outdoors in Texas which will have a large portion of video clips for streaming. I have a dvx100b myself and have been shooting for consistently for a couple of years but looking for folks who want to contribute to our magazine by going on trips with me or on your own with several of our columnists and sponsors that we will be bringing aboard. This is not a job opportunity although we are in preparations to talk to sponsors; but rather to get some experience and opportunities to shoot outdoor wildlife video.

I've seen several outdoor writers associations for journalists and outdoor writers and hoping I can get something similar started but on the video side of things as we grow our online mag.

For those who are interested please email me at info@castnshoot.com or go to our website and submit your info on the contact form.

Thanks everyone for your time.

Oh and disregard the video clips already on there...those are actually on other sites and a few submitted by some of our advertisers.

I'm moving to central TX in July... and this sounds like something that'd be fun. I have a 100B and most of my experience is in short narrative work but I'm looking to "expand my video horizons." I grew up in MN fishing and whatnot so I have experience in the wilderness (just not with a video camera in that environment). Let me know if you need a cameraman!

Just a follow-up if there are any in Texas who are looking for non paid opportunities to either build your portfolio or simply get experience let me know. Shoots will be ranging from our model shoots to fishing/hunting trips...also with the models. If we need to travel the cost for food/fuel/lodging is usually covered. All you have to do is join in on the fun and bring your gear and be willing to enjoy the outdoors. I'm truly a beginner but here's one of two videos from a shoot 2 weeks ago. Just learning as I go. We just started getting the video part going so i'm lining up more models and scheduling duck hunting trips for the next two months.

Nature filming is what got me started but I have drifted it from it over the years. It is still a dream of mine to travel and film wildlife for a living so this is something I would be interested in. I am in Austin and will have an HVX at the end of the year (currently shooting on XL1s...keep the comments to yourself :P)
