Testing CS4's included Mocha Tracker...

I just got CS4 Production Premium so I wanted to test out AE's new Mocha tracker. Pretty sweet I must say. I didn't spend a whole lot time tweaking the track so it isn't perfect but still a good result with such shaky footage.

I didn't spend much time in PS making the sign replacement but you get the point.

Mocha is awesome but sometimes finicky. I've been using it for about a year now.

I can't believe that it comes with AE now.

Amazing.

It is such a powerful tool.

Really amazing.

Nice track you did. Did you have to adjust the track much?

I find on tracks like that it only requires 1 or 2 adjustments.

I do have problems once I bring the CP data back to AE though sometimes it is a bit confused where to put the track.

It looks like the camera wasnt color balanced properly for outdoor light when he shot it. He blew the sky out trying to get some contrast and some blue back into the road.

That is pretty much it exactly. I didn't white balance my camera it really wasn't my main priority for that day of shooting. I was in a rush and wanted some footage to play with!

Hey towerfan its quite different really. SyntEyes is 3d tracker for matchmoving and Mocha or Mocha AE is a 2.5 d tracker. Basically a beefed up 2d tracker.

So for matchmoving SynthEyes you would need but for a 2d solution Mocha AE would certainly be sufficent.
