Last night I watched the premiere episode of “Test your Brain” on National Geographic channel and I picked up on their use of shallow DOF, to the extent that most ENG cameras wouldn’t be able to achieve. I suspected it was shot on DSLR and my suspicions were confirmed when they actually showed a behind the scenes shot showing what seemed to be a Canon 7D in use.
I've seen a lot of productions shot on a DSLR being broadcast on television (some badly shot reality television programs, commercials, House M.D.), but it surprised me that such a big channel like Nat Geo would produce an entire program using DSLRs, and they even had some really decent focus pullers.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that. Did anyone else see this? Any other massive channels making use of DSLRs for their productions?
