Terminator Salvation

That didn't look anything like a fanfilm lol...are you nuts? Either way looks interesting and i like the cutting style for the teaser to fit the Transformers beat. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe, I'm being difficult. It just seems different. Although, I'm glad they don't have a million skulls on the ground and it doesn't look filmed on a sound stage.

Looks mint! Cant wait for this one. Just hope it wont be another "Transformers" let-down! But with Christian Bale in the lead, i have high hopes!

McG is a good big-budget director. He's just got a stupid name. I have hopes for this movie because of him. It's the script I'm worried about.

McG is a good big-budget director.

Based on what?...The first Charlie's Angels was somewhat entertaining in a stupid way, but it's nothing to be proud of. He has yet to prove himself at all and has shown no talent for making this kind of film...And his dumb name doesn't help.

Trailer looks good and the story/concept seems to hold some promise. It feels more character driven with Connor and this other guy trying to make it to skynet.

Regarding McG... His prior work (Charlie's Angels) is not good but I have not seen We are Marshall. He really hasn't done enough work where I can say he's truly had directing opportunities. I mean this in the sense of not being confined to a horrible script with a producers horrible vision. I think many directors are forced to work with producers and scripts that aren't that great for their first few projects. Writer/Directors have it different because it's usually their ideas in the first place. But Directors for hire who get attached to a project solely to direct are often at the whim of the producer. So I'm really hoping that it's this new series that allows McG to come forth and do his thing. I'm hoping there really is some talent in him because I'm going to be pissed off if they ruin this.

Saw the trailer on the big screen. I'm so there for this. True, I am a sucker for anything Terminator (to the point where I actually watched THREE episodes of Sarah Conner Chronicles - yeah, that's how dedicated I am), but now that we're finally to the war itself, I don't see how they can screw this up. They don't have to deal with any of the weird time paradoxes. People can just kick ass.

Look, regarding McG. Charlie's Angels was not the kind of movie I like. BUT I thought the directing style was really sweet and the Crispin Glover character was so awesome in that movie (to this day I can't stand that guy for screwing up the Back To The Future series. They had to rewrite everything at the last second because he wouldn't sign on unless he got everything Michael J. Fox did). This guy has got talent. He knows how to use a budget. Give him a chance.

Trailer looked good. I actually liked the first charlies angels. We are marshall was decent too. I think because his name is McG it is hard to take him seriously. Like Hype Williams or Little X I would not put 100 million in the hands of anyone named little X even though he's dope.

I just don't think you learn as much about making films from making music videos as people think. You learn how to work with a crew, but all the emphasis is on the superficial. In fact, I think most people pick up a lot of bad habits directing music videos and a mindset that is anti-thetical to making good films. There are a few good directors who started in music videos, Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, David Fincher...but even their music videos were much more interesting than the slick crap people like McG and Hype Williams put out. And even as good as Jonze, Gondry and Fincher are, they have a slight tendency to go for concept over story, a result of working in music videos.

I'll admit it looks pretty good. My only complaints are that I can barely tell Christian Bale and Sam Worthington apart in the trailer which was confusing, and the last shot looks like a rejected special effect from Transformers...I'll give McG the benefit of the doubt based on this, but it's a big doubt.

I will have to agree with Batutta on this one. That giant robot looked pretty cool but I don't remember ever seeing one in any Terminator movie. I am assuming they will introduce a lot of new machines, that being one of them. McG is not the worst director, but he does have the worst moniker. I will see this opeining night for sure. It looks very good so far.
